Canine Academy offers an effective, humane approach to dog training that does not involve treats, dangerous collars or clickers. Training programs are designed to educate pet owners about the fundamentals of dog behavior, and to provide effective techniques for clear communication with their dog.
The ultimate goal of any Canine Academy training program is to facilitate a strong and mutually respectful relationship between pet owners and their canine companions. Behavioral challenges that can be addressed safely and effectively may include:
- Aggression
- Separation anxiety
- Fears and phobias
- House soiling
- Barking
- Stress and anxiety
- Destructive behavior (chewing, digging, scratching, etc.)
- Escaping
- Hyperactivity
Canine Academy offers onsite training and training in the home (as requested), providing owners and their dogs a flexible and personalized way to learn. Specific challenges can be addressed in depth and pacing is tailored to individual needs, rather than the needs of the majority in a classroom environment.
Brian’s personal pack of five calm, cool and collected dogs are often the best therapists and trainers available: the staff at Canine Academy has observed that some of the most profound rehabilitation occurs when dogs facing behavioral challenges are surrounded by good role models. The Academy offers a safe and controlled learning environment and plenty of “A” students for your dog to emulate.
When considering group versus private training classes, please consider the following:

If you answered yes to any of these questions, private (and/or in home) training may be the most effective learning strategy for you and your dog. Most dogs respond extremely well to our methods, but if questions or challenges persist, Canine Academy trainers always remain available for follow up support and clarification as needed.
Canine Academy offers several training packages:
Puppy Training 101 - $250.00
This package includes all basic skills including the proper way to socialize, feed, walk, and give affection. All lessons utilize caring, effective techniques that emphasize your leadership and strengthen your relationship with your dog.
Puppy Training 101 includes three private, one-hour, one-on-one classes. The first two classes are at your home and the third is at Canine Academy. This package includes a six-month membership to the Canine Academy Private Dog Park.
Dog Training 101 - $250.00
This package is for dog owners that would like to enjoy more effective communication with their dog. Basic training is reviewed, specific challenges are addressed, and special skills and strategies are shared.
